WoW for the faint of heart
So I hit level 48 tonight, and made my first foray into Feralas. I found this interesting due to the fact that on my last toon, I was level 42 at this stage of the game.
Not only this, but three of the quests awaiting my arrival are already green. The rest are yellow. And in Tanaris, where I've done not much more than grab the flight path, five of the ten quests in my book are green, and it's safe to assume the remainder will be by the time I get to them. Once those are done, maybe I'll make my first journey into the Hinterlands.
Gone are the days when I would stay behind in a zone and grind before proceeding, because there just didn't seem to be enough to do. Or getting the Orc excrement pounded out of me while doing oranges, because I got sick of doing the aforementioned. But now, some quests are turning grey before I even get a chance to get to the zone they’re in. So I chase the greens from place to place, because I know they won't stay that way for long. It's been quite a while since I've completed a quest at my level, and it's almost become a new challenge to stay ahead of the quests while I can still get experience for completing them.
I ain't complaining. Level 48, in 3 days and 4 hours, most of it unrested. For guys like me who prefer easy mode, the changes are welcome. But for you true purists, it must be one hell of an adjustment.

I think its got to the point where most people are levelling alts so its just a welcome change. But yeah, for 'purists' and those people who have only recently bought the game its a bit strange.

I have said that many times before: None of my toone ever HAD to do orange quests or grind in a zone just to get up to the level of the mobs. There were enough quests before and the xp was always okay for me.
The only difference now is that I turned 60 with my last 2 characters and still had EPL and Silithus to quest in...zones where I normally ding 60 in.
If you follow questlines through, you always have green and yellow quests. Maybe WoW seems easy mode now, but it was never hardmode really. BTW...this is true for Alliance and Horde...

I've heard that from a lot of people. For me the low 50s were always a struggle to find quests to do at my level. Of course, I rarely group with others, so a lot of chains I couldn't complete as a lone warrior. That probably had a lot to do with it.

If I never see EPL and Silithus again, I'll sleep just fine at night.

I have no problems with EPL, but I hated Silithus! Sand, sand, even more sand, and poisonous bugs. I hated the place!

Funny, that is how I felt about EPL...poison, pollution and bloody bats, dogs and gargoyles that would unmount you at every turn.
